Ceremony of the olive tree
Artists Luz Moreno Pinart and Anaïs Silvestro work with everyday foods to tell their multiple stories. In residence in Japan at Villa Kujoyama in 2019, they have developed an olive tree ceremony to honour this fascinating thousand-year-old tree and the new olive oil.
The two artists were welcomed in 2022 for a post-residence at the Abbaye de Maubuisson in the Val d'Oise to rethink this immersive ceremony where everything makes sense, by collaborating with Daniel Pescio, olfactory artist and perfumer.

In resonance with "The Inner Island" exhibition, Luz Moreno Pinart and Anaïs Silvestro will present the Ceremony of the olive tree at Villa Carmignac in spring and autumn to make you (re)discover its park and olive groves, celebrating the life cycle of this magical and suspended place, bordered by the sea and hundred-year-old fruit trees.
During this culinary performance, the fruit tree will be tasted, breathed, caressed and discovered in silence to appreciate the moment and the surrounding sounds.
Schedule of the visit:
Part of the ceremony will take place seated. Each guest will then be invited to take off their shoes to enter the tasting area. Plant-based drinks or meals will be offered. If you have any intolerances or allergies, please let us know in advance.
Exclusively outdoor guided tour, you will then have access to the exhibition THE INNER ISLAND freely upon presentation of your ticket.
